The Baltimore Ravens haven’t been nearly as good this season as they were last year. Their defense has been a liability more often than not, and Derrick Henry has looked like a shell of himself.
Of course, plenty of that has had to do with Lamar Jackson missing time. With their quarterback sidelined by injury, opposing defenses often focused on trying to contain their powerful running back.
With that in mind, former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky revealed concerning stats about the Ravens’ star duo.
“Last year, Lamar/Henry produced 23 explosive runs in zone read at a 5.7 clip. They have four of those right now (4.3, 25% less),” Orlovsky wrote on X.

That being said, one should know better than to count this team out. As poorly as Jackson has always performed in the playoffs, he’s been utterly dominant in the regular season, and there’s still plenty of football left to be played.
The AFC North has been disappointing and is still up for grabs. The Ravens should be more than capable of closing out the season on a high note and making things interesting at the top of the division.
Running backs often fall from grace more quickly than players at other positions because of the wear and tear they have to endure, and Henry’s usage may have finally caught up with him. Yet, with Jackson back at full strength, Henry could find more running lanes to get back to his usual form.
