The Dallas Cowboys had a potential issue at quarterback coming into Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season.
Dak Prescott is healthy enough to play after suffering a thumb injury during their season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, Cooper Rush is on a hot streak since taking over for Prescott.
However, The Athletic’s Jon Machota shared a definitive answer regarding the team’s decision.
Mike McCarthy: “We are preparing for Cooper (Rush) to start against the Eagles.”

Machota tweeted, “Mike McCarthy: ‘We are preparing for Cooper (Rush) to start against the Eagles.'”
It will be Rush’s sixth start for the Cowboys, and he will put his undefeated record on the line.
Keeping that unblemished record will be difficult because they will be facing the 5-0 Eagles.
Rush didn’t have to do much during their Week 5 win against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
He had ten completions out of 16 tries for 102 yards.
The former Central Michigan standout also has four touchdowns and zero interceptions in his four starts in 2022.
Rush will be engaged in a difficult battle against one of the NFL’s best defensive units.
Through five games, the Eagles are fourth in total yards allowed at 294.4 per game and fifth in points allowed at 17.6.
They are also tied for the fourth-most sacks with 17.
Waiting For Prescott’s Full Recovery
Week 6 can be the last time Rush will start for the Cowboys this season.
After all, Prescott’s return comes nearer with each passing week.
However, the Cowboys will not want to risk his condition and let him sit down as a precaution.
Either way, Dallas has a chance against Philadelphia because of their defense.
The Cowboys have the second-most sacks with 20, six of which are courtesy of Micah Parsons.
They are also limiting opponents to 14.4 points per game, the second-best in the league.
