The Indianapolis Colts unearthed another defensive gem in cornerback Kenny Moore.
Last season, the former Valdosta State standout finished with 102 tackles, four interceptions, and a sack.
Those numbers were enough to earn his first Pro Bowl selection.
Indeed, the undrafted talent has become one of the NFL’s best defensive backs.
But after that success, he decided to distance himself from the team by not attending OTAs.
NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport tweeted that Moore wants a new contract that matches his production last season.
For now, he is under a four-year, $33 million contract he signed in 2019.
However, only $9 million of that amount is guaranteed.
Therefore, he would like to gain more financial merit to compensate for his stellar 2021 campaign.
But while there are no updates of a new deal being discussed, The Athletic’s Zak Keefer shared a positive update for the Colts’ cause.

Keefer tweeted, “An early indication Kenny Moore will be on the field for minicamp this week.”
Having him back gives Indianapolis more time to develop what could be a stingy defensive crew.
Lining up opposite him is former Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore, who the Colts signed this offseason.
They also have DeForest Buckner, Darius Leonard, Kwity Paye, and Yannick Ngakoue.
Moore Deserves To Be Paid
His performance last year should be enough to earn him a raise.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the leverage in asking for a better deal because he is under contract.
Either he honors what he signed or he doesn’t play for the Colts.
Perhaps the Colts would like to see if last season wasn’t a fluke.
If he will have comparable or better numbers in 2022, giving him a lucrative extension should be a no-brainer.
