The Philadelphia Eagles have been the best team in the National Football League this season, and it hasn’t even been close.
Their offense has been a steamroller from day one, while their defense has been as suffocating, physical, and dominant as one could even dream of.
However, not even such an impressive campaign should be enough for them to be overconfident ahead of this weekend’s NFC Championship Game versus the San Francisco 49ers.
The Niners also have an elite defense and closed out the season with a 12-0 record, not to mention they have a veteran head coach who already knows what it’s like to play at this stage.
That’s why sports analyst Colin Cowherd is concerned about the Eagles, as he’s still not entirely sold on Nick Sirianni as a head coach:
“Right now, I really like the QB, and I think Sirianni is good. But here’s my reservation: That last year they got to the playoffs, it was bad,” Cowherd said. “And this year, they beat the Giants off a bye. I think Nick Sirianni is the guy (…) but you gotta remember: The Philadelphia story to this point is a GM story. They have eight Pro-Bowlers and nine alternates. 17 or their 22 starters are Pro-Bowl level, that’s a General Manager story.”

Cowherd makes a very solid point for a change.
The Eagles had a borderline perfect offseason, and they kept on making moves throughout the year.
Howie Roseman should be a lock to be named the best executive of the year, as he gave a master class as to how to put together a Super Bowl-contending roster.
Jalen Hurts also deserves plenty of credit for making the most of his weapons and finally taking a leap forward, but we have yet to see Sirianni making adjustments and proving that he can outcoach some of the best in the game.
So, will his silence his doubters or will this great season be all for nothing?
We’ll have to wait and see.
