A couple of days ago, Houston Texans star C.J. Stroud faced some mockery and criticism.
His list of the top five quarterbacks in the National Football League raised some eyebrows.
He had Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, himself, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes.
And while they are all very good players, the fact that we didn’t see Joe Burrow or Josh Allen cracking the top five led to some comments online.
That’s why it seems like he’s had to revisit his list.
As shown by Sunday Night Football on NBC, Stroud has now chosen Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, himself, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes.

He reportedly based his list off the 2023 season alone, so perhaps he’s just trying to avoid the heat and get it right with the fans this time around.
Then again, to each his own, and he’s entitled to have his opinion, even if it’s kind of unpopular.
Granted, Dak Prescott was an MVP candidate last season for most of the year, and Josh Allen struggled early in the campaign.
Being better than one of your colleagues for one season won’t necessarily make you the better player.
But even if Stroud actually felt that way and believed Prescott was a better quarterback than Allen — which objectively may not be the case — he shouldn’t have to pivot just to appease the fans.
If anything, Allen and Joe Burrow should use this list as motivation for when they cross paths with Stroud and the Houston Texans in the future.
