On Sunday, the third-year quarterback dismantled one of the league’s top pass defenses by throwing for a franchise-record 448 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-27 victory over the Falcons. Young also achieved a rare statistical milestone in the process.
According to CBS, he became the only quarterback this season to record at least 400 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and no interceptions in a single game. No other player has met all three benchmarks so far this year.

If Young can sustain the level of play he showed in Week 11, the Panthers’ trajectory could change significantly. He is unlikely to replicate 448 passing yards and three touchdowns every week, but the performance revealed his capacity to operate at a higher standard.
Young has delivered strong outings before, though consistency has remained an ongoing challenge throughout his career. His franchise-record performance against Atlanta included 318 passing yards in the second half and overtime alone.
That output has restored confidence both inside and outside the organization regarding his ability to lead the team long term. The result also carried important division implications for Carolina moving forward.
The Panthers have won five of their past six games while Tampa Bay has dropped three of its last four. Carolina and Tampa Bay have not faced each other yet this season, making their Week 18 matchup a critical factor in determining how the division race ultimately unfolds.
