The Boston Red Sox are a team with a rich history of success in MLB.
They are one of the most popular teams in the sport and have a massive fanbase.
But, their lack of success in recent years is becoming concerning.
Each of the last two seasons the Red Sox have finished 78-84.
That put them in last place in the AL East both of those years.
With how things are going this offseason, it does not look like things will be much better for Boston in 2024.
The Red Sox have yet to make any big moves to improve their roster.
All they have done so far is trade away pitcher Chris Sale and outfielder Alex Verdugo.
The Red Sox’s lack of aggressiveness to improve their team could send the fanbase into a tailspin.
According to Jared Carrabis, if the Red Sox continue to operate this way the fan interest in the team will plummet.
We’re going to see fan interest drop to levels we haven’t seen since before Pedro got here. That’s where we’re headed if the Red Sox continue to operate this way. https://t.co/Ri0Ehi1dQ2

The Red Sox front office has done a poor job of keeping their fans engaged.
Fans want to see their team improve, either via trade or free agency.
But, the Red Sox have done nothing so far.
Having to play in the AL East already has the Red Sox behind the eight ball.
That division is loaded with some of the best teams in the AL.
There is no question the Red Sox will be predicted to finish last.
Boston still has time to show their fans they are serious about contending.
But, fans will have to see it to believe it.
