The Oklahoma City Thunder have won their first two games of the season, although they were both claimed in double overtime.
Chet Holmgren has been a huge part of the team’s plans, but he hasn’t been as dominant as usual.
In fact, as pointed out by Clemente Almanza on social media, Holmgren hasn’t blocked a single player yet.
“Little surprised by this, but Chet Holmgren has had zero blocks through 78 minutes this season. Hasn’t had a chance to meet anybody at the rim yet, but still a stat that stuck out. Sengun and Siakam both shot a ton of jumpers,” Almanza posted on X.

It is surprising to see Holmgren with zero blocks so far, considering he produced 2.3 in his rookie year and 2.2 last season.
At 7-foot-1, it’s hard to get past Holmgren, but he hasn’t been showing his intimidating defensive skills, at least not yet.
It’s only been two games, and they have been against two of the toughest offensive teams in the NBA.
Still, Thunder fans are ready to see more from Holmgren as soon as possible.
These first few games have proven two things for the Thunder: they are definitely capable of becoming champions again, but nothing will be easy this year.
Both the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers have pushed them hard and made life difficult, but the Thunder have been able to squeeze out tight but important victories.
Those victories wouldn’t have been as close if Holmgren had blocked a few shots.
Fans will be paying close attention to the next matches to see if he can shut the competition down in the paint.
