The Philadelphia 76ers are still holding onto the hope that they can get an equal value in return for James Harden.
The problem, however, is that they don’t seem to have the same valuation of Harden as the rest of the league.
Discussing that, former NBA champion Richard Jefferson asked a group of panelists if someone believed Harden was still worth a massive return, and no one even batted an eye (via NBA on ESPN).
With that in mind, NBA analyst Bobby Marks revealed that the entire NBA sees Harden as a top-40 player, whereas Daryl Morey and the Sixers think of him as a top-25 kind of guy.

Of course, that makes it difficult to find a trade that they feel comfortable with, as they’re by no means getting a top-25 player in return, nor will they get the kind of draft asset that could grant them a top-25 player in the future, either.
Truth be told, the only guy who seems to be high on Harden in 2023 is Daryl Morey.
It’s hard to blame any team for not trusting Harden at this point in his career.
He has struggled in the playoffs and failed to win a championship in his prime, he’s aging, he has dealt with injuries, has a history of insubordination and partying, and has failed to honor his last three contracts.
Harden is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the most talented players of all time.
But he’s no longer the player he used to be.
