For years now, the San Francisco 49ers have boasted one of the best defensive units in the NFL and it’s largely in part to superstar Nick Bosa.
Bosa is a one-man wrecking crew on the field who can blow up an entire offense any given week and the 49ers have been able to build their scheme around him.
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year is a disruptive force that most teams don’t have an answer for and is in line to get paid a massive raise on his next deal.
San Francisco and Bosa have been trying to work together on a deal throughout the offseason, though so far an agreement has yet to be made.
Bosa has been away from the team as negotiations continue on, though there is some optimism that a deal will eventually get done.
In fact, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN said that San Francisco will likely end up making Bosa the highest-paid defensive player in the league.

As of right now, Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald is the highest-paid defensive player in the league.
Bosa’s camp is likely targeting an average annual value of over $30 million in order to surpass Donald’s lucrative deal and the 49ers at least so far seem willing to offer that amount.
Until a deal is agreed to, though, Bosa will remain away from the roster and that could very well seep into Week 1.
San Francisco fans are surely hoping for a resolution soon as the defense needs Bosa to be at its best.
