The last thing the New England Patriots needed entering the season was more drama.
However, Head Coach Bill Belichick couldn’t help himself, and he won’t change his ways at this point in his career.
That’s why, in an attempt to give his typical cryptic responses, he re-ignited the starting quarterback debate by stating that all 90 guys would get a chance to play, with Bailey Zappe included.
With that in mind, analysts at The Carton Show ripped Belichick for this ‘old act’ and the front he always puts on when he addresses the media, asking whether people would actually get to see the real Belichick at some point in time.
"The fact that Belichick won't come out and say Mac Jones is the starting QB is just comical and typical Bill."

Craig Carton claimed that there was simply no reason to make a story out of this, as everybody knows Mac Jones is the starter.
Truth be told, all Belichick had to do was stand by his young quarterback and have his back.
Now, people are once again talking about a feud and whether his job is in jeopardy, which is far from what they need after three years of not winning a playoff game.
Per Carton, that act is valid when you’re winning Super Bowls, but not so much when your job and credibility could be on the line.
Belichick couldn’t help himself, and his comments may have caused the exact opposite effect he intended when he responded to a rather fair and simple question.
