The Toronto Raptors have been linked with multiple trades for the past couple of seasons.
Masai Ujiri decided to hold onto some of his most talented players before last year’s trade deadline, which may have been a costly mistake in hindsight.
Fred VanVleet walked away, and they got nothing in return, so the Raptors might look to change their stance regarding their valuable veterans and get something for them before it’s too late.
With that in mind, Michael Grange of Sportsnet (via NBA Central) reports that there’s a big chance that Pascal Siakam gets moved before the start of the season.
Pascal Siakam could be traded before the regular season starts, per @michaelgrange
“There is persistent speculation that Pascal Siakam — the team’s leading scorer, second-most prolific playmaker and ultimate home-grown success story — could be traded before the regular season… pic.twitter.com/VF1aIgrvZb

His report cites that the Cameroonian big man could even be traded in the next couple of weeks.
It’s not a surprise to see multiple teams keeping tabs on a player like Siakam.
He’s known for his work ethic, being a homegrown player who played his way into a big contract after spending some time in the G League.
Siakam can put the ball on the floor and create for others as a playmaker, is a solid rebounder on both ends of the floor, and can score from all three levels.
He might have failed in terms of taking that leap forward to become a franchise player once Kawhi Leonard left the team, but he’s still a borderline All-Star with playoff experience and veteran leadership.
Then again, Ujiri has a reputation for being a tough person to negotiate with, so it’ll be interesting to see how much the Raptors ask for his services.
