The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings have reportedly been working hard behind the scenes to make a deal for Jonathan Kuminga.
But just how hard have they been working?
According to Sam Amick, the Warriors aren’t interested in what the Kings have been offering, which may limit Sacramento’s options.
“My understanding is the Warriors weren’t interested in Carter or DeRozan. As of a couple weeks ago, the Kings weren’t willing to pay Kuminga into the $20 million range (AAV),” Amick said, via NBACentral.

As time goes on, this Kuminga situation seems to get more and more complicated for the Warriors.
They are somewhat interested in keeping him, but they are also willing to let him go.
However, they aren’t going to give him up for anything, and they want the right deal to be offered by the Kings.
The worst fear of the Warriors is that they let Kuminga go only to later find out a better package could have been presented by another team.
They have already offered Kuminga a new contract – one he isn’t wild about – but they haven’t been ready to create a sign-and-trade that would ship him to another destination.
The problem for the Kings is that they only have so much they can offer, and it simply isn’t enough for the Warriors, at least not right now.
Giving up DeRozan or Carter is about all they are ready for, at least right now.
Kuminga and his management team will have to make a decision soon, because they cannot sit still and do nothing forever.
The new season is still months away, but it is approaching, and Kuminga is still without a determined future.
