The Boston Celtics have finally gotten over the hump.
It took them 16 years to win their second title since the Larry Bird days.
And, just like what happens when things are difficult, it’s so much more enjoyable when they finally happen.
That’s why Paul Pierce was extremely hyped and emotional after the win.
The Celtics legend took to social media to showcase his emotions and talk about how hyped he was for the win (Via NBA Central).

This championship was years in the making.
Notably, Pierce was a big contributor to it, although indirectly.
The Celtics traded him and Garnett to the Brooklyn Nets, and the picks they got in return for that transaction eventually became Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Also, Pierce has stayed quite close to the organization since he walked away from the game, serving both as a mentor and a hype man, working out with the players, and making sure to defend them on social media and television when they fell short.
Pierce grew up being a Los Angeles Lakers fan, but destiny turned him into a man who bleeds green and lives and dies for the Celtics.
