The Miami Heat failed to get the job done in the NBA Finals, but they made it further than most people thought they would make it in the first place.
Now, they’re waiting to see if they can get Damian Lillard, but Jimmy Butler isn’t just going to rest on his laurels, hoping they get a deal done.
Instead, he’s already on a mission and thinking about next season, as he showed on his Instagram account by posting a video of his workout (via ClutchPoints).

Butler is one of the hardest-working guys in the league, often getting in multiple workout sessions per day, and trying to lead by example in that regard.
The Heat lost some important rotation pieces in the offseason, and it’s going to be tough to replace them if they don’t get Lillard.
Reports state that the Portland Trail Blazers have been fairly unimpressed with what they’ve had to offer thus far, as they’re reportedly not interested in acquiring Tyler Herro.
The Heat could also part ways with Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr., as well as multiple first-round picks and pick swaps to try and get a deal done.
Lillard is reportedly still adamant about playing for the Heat and the Heat only, and that trade would obviously take them to the top tier in the Eastern Conference.
However, it doesn’t seem like any move is going to happen any time soon, and Butler knows he may have to take matters into his own hands again next season.
