The Atlanta Hawks are one of many teams that decided to make some moves during the NBA offseason, with the team finally parting ways with forward John Collins, who had been mentioned in trade rumors for years.
The team ultimately shipped Collins to the Utah Jazz, and he recently said that his new team is refreshing because of the lack of egos on the squad, which could be taken as a direct shot at superstar guard Trae Young.
Even though it was likely that it was directed at Young, the 25-year-old doesn’t seem to be too worried about it, as he was seen on Saturday sporting an Oklahoma jersey during the Red River Rivalry via Ball Don’t Lie.

It will be an interesting year for Young and the Hawks, as it could be argued that it might be a make-or-break year for the rising star due to the fact Atlanta has struggled to compete ever since he arrived, with a lot of talk behind closed doors that he might be the problem.
There’s even been speculation that the Hawks have tried to trade Young a time or two with no takers, but that’s only speculation because there’d surely be interested parties if he truly was on the trading block in Atlanta.
However, if the Hawks continue to struggle, Atlanta might need to make a drastic move ahead of the NBA trade deadline, with Young potentially being the player that is dangled as trade bait in hopes of the team getting a big haul in return.
