The Boston Celtics took down the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, beating them 106-99 in front of an excited crowd at TD Garden.
It was an impressive win for the Celtics because they were again short-handed.
In fact, they lost one of their best players during the game.
Late in the first half, Jaylen Brown was inadvertently hit by teammate Jayson Tatum’s elbow.
The elbow landed right in his face and it was clear he suffered a fairly nasty injury.
Boston’s Jaylen Brown has suffered a facial fracture and will miss some time, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Initial feeling is Brown could be sidelined through the All-Star break, with further specialist examination on Thursday.

After the game, Shams Charania reported that Brown had a “facial fracture” and will miss some time as he recovers.
Nothing is official yet but it’s expected that he will not play until after the All-Star break.
Brown will be further examined on Thursday and the team will announce any findings then.
The loss of Brown comes at a tricky time because injuries have hit them again and again all season.
Right now, the team is without Al Horford, Marcus Smart, and Robert Williams, who are each dealing with their own rehabilitation.
Despite those losses, the team is still doing incredibly well and sits atop the Eastern Conference with a powerful 39-16 record.
But Brown’s absence will hurt more than any other because he is truly one of the best players on the team and a pivotal part of their offensive power.
He is producing 26.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists a game, meaning he is having his best season yet.
It is clear that he will be sorely missed for the duration of his absence.
The Celtics are hoping for some good news about Brown on Thursday because they want to hear a return date for him as soon as possible.
