The Arizona Cardinals had a disappointing 2022 season and will look to get back to their winning ways in 2023.
To help, the Cardinals have been holding interviews for a new head coach, which includes a candidate that comes as a bit of a surprise.

Just hours after the Cincinnati Bengals were eliminated from the playoffs, it was announced this morning that the Cardinals already made their move.
Lou Anarumo has been linked to several NFL teams, but up to this point, the Cardinals hadn’t been publicly mentioned.
Anarumo has been the Bengals’ defensive coordinator for just four seasons but has over ten years of NFL coaching experience.
Despite his experiences, Anarumo has yet to be offered a head coaching role.
Anarumo is defensive-minded, as all of his jobs in the league have been on the defensive side of the ball.
When looking at the head coaches that were in the 2022 playoffs, only one of them (Sean McDermott) is defensive-minded.
It appears that the NFL is moving to a much more offensive-heavy league, as evidenced by the prior experiences of their head coaches.
The Cardinals have already interviewed Ejiro Evero, Brian Flores, Aaron Glenn, and Vance Joseph, but it appears that they are throwing Anarumo into the mix.
Anarumo could help the Cardinals’ defense, considering they gave up the third-most points in the league this season.
While their offense needs work, although it is unorthodox, maybe the best type of coach for the Cardinals is a defensive-minded one.
Many teams are looking for a new head coach, so, if they are serious about Anarumo, the Cardinals will have to act fast.
