At the beginning of this season, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said of the Toronto Blue Jays that last season was merely the “trailer” and that this season, we would see the “movie.”
So far, Guerrero has been right.
The Blue Jays are 70-58 and hold the third Wild Card spot in the American League.
In terms of the offense, we really are seeing what Guerrero described as the movie.
The Blue Jays are second in the American League in runs scored.
Last night, they achieved an impressive feat.
Eight players on their roster have 100 or more hits this season.
That’s the most in baseball.

Jays Keep On Hitting
Toronto’s offense has been a key strength in 2022.
But when eight guys on your team have 100 or more hits, then the offense is really rolling.
Things are looking quite good in terms of offense for the Blue Jays.
This is a good team with incredible depth in their lineup and on their roster as a whole.
With guys like Guerrero, Whit Merrifield, Matt Chapman, Bo Bichette, and George Springer, the lineup has been producing quite well.
They’re scoring plenty of runs and have the ninth-most home runs in all of baseball.
They also have the sixth-most hits in all of baseball, thanks in large part to the eight guys in their lineup who have at least 100 hits this year.
That’s certainly something to brag about to the rest of baseball.
The Blue Jays offense has been their strength this season and it could be what ends up leading them to the postseason for the second time in the last three years.
We’ll see if they can stay hot and keep getting hits.
