The Los Angeles Clippers could be quietly trying to get a deal done.
It’s not a secret that James Harden wants to be traded there, and the interest is reportedly mutual.
That’s why there have been countless rumors centered around Terance Mann, especially after he was ruled out of the Clippers’ season opener with an undisclosed ankle injury.
With that in mind, Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson asked him about the trade rumors, and the guard/forward was quite blunt about it.
Terance Mann on James Harden trade rumors: “At the end of the day it’s still a business like they say and teams make decisions on what they think is better for the teams and you can’t get too caught up in that, you know? Mann — who had originally been deemed untouchable in trade talks — stated that the only thing a player in his position can do is show up to work and do his job every single day, and that’s pretty much it.
He’s been a pivotal part of Tyronn Lue’s team for years now, either coming off the bench or sliding into the starting lineup whenever Kawhi Leonard and/or Paul George are out.
He’s not a superstar by any means, and chances are that his ceiling isn’t that far off, but he’s still a promising player who could contribute to multiple aspects of the game.
Also, trading Russell Westbrook or any of their star forwards for Harden is pretty much out of the question, leaving him as the likeliest trade chip to get Harden.
At the end of the day, Mann can only control what he does, not what his team does with his contract.
And if he’s traded, it’ll be up to him to prove they were wrong for giving up on him.
