The Houston Texans are going to be one of the most electric and exciting teams to watch throughout the 2024 NFL season after they added more firepower to their offense this past offseason.
The Texans strengthened their wide receiver room by trading for star wideout Stefon Diggs, but they also traded for veteran running back Joe Mixon to shore up the backfield.
The two former Pro Bowlers add some much-needed talent and depth to the Houston roster, though the passing game will still likely revolve around Nico Collins and Tank Dell.
Collins and Dell emerged last season as one of the best wide receiver duos in the league, and both players are in line for more opportunities this year.
Dell suffered a season-ending injury toward the end of his rookie year, but is fully healthy now and ready to take a leap.
Before Houston’s Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, Dell explained how he got the nickname “Tank” via NFL.
“I had a big head, that’s what it was,” Dell said. “My mama said I had a tank head when I was younger, so she started calling me that.”

This is a hilarious story from Dell who explains the size of his head led to his mom calling him Tank and others shortly thereafter adopting the nickname.
While Dell may be undersized for a wide receiver, he has an uncanny knack for getting open and making tough, defended catches.
His Year 2 campaign will be something to watch as he’s got Pro Bowl-upside in a pass-friendly offense.
