Chris Paul’s role within the Golden State Warriors may be coming into focus.
Many fans of the team have wondered just how it’ll look with Paul on the roster: will he be a starter alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson or will he lead Golden State’s second unit?
Head coach Steve Kerr suggested that they are still figuring that out.
According to Anthony Slater, Kerr said that Paul has scrimmaged some with the team’s second unit during practices and that they want to “mix and match him into that unit during preseason.”
Chris Paul only played with the Warriors’ starters in the preseason opener. Steve Kerr said they’ve had him scrimmage some with the second unit in practice and want to mix and match him into that unit during preseason. May not come tonight though.

During his first preseason game with his new team, Paul played solely with the Warriors’ starters.
This led many to believe that Paul had earned his spot as the latest starter for the team.
But the fact that Kerr wants him to play alongside the team’s bench players means that maybe Paul won’t always be starting.
There is a chance that he could be the team’s premier second-unit star.
There is also a chance that he does a bit of both, depending on rest, injuries, what the team needs, and who they are playing against.
Being a bench player is not anything to be ashamed of, especially at Paul’s age.
In fact, it would instantly turn Golden State’s bench into one of the best in the league.
Kerr and his staff will have to make a decision soon because the regular season is now just days away and there are a few questions remaining.
The Paul era is about to commence for Golden State but it’s still not entirely clear what that will look like.
