The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will square off again in Week 12. It is one of the fiercest rivalries in sports, the type of divisional matchup neither team can afford to lose.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith has some bad news for Philadelphia fans as he names his pick for the Cowboys-Eagles matchup.
“I’m picking the Dallas Cowboys to win this game on Sunday. Remember, I want [the Cowboys] falling off a roof, not a curb. I do think Dallas is going to win this game. Offensively, they’ve been playing with fire for too long. I think this is the one game they get burnt,” Smith said.

Smith has always enjoyed taking shots at the Cowboys, so the fact that he’s picking them to win this game speaks volumes about his concerns regarding the Eagles. Their offense has taken a big step back under new coordinator Kevin Patullo, and while they’ve still managed to win games, it feels like it’s just a matter of time before that comes back to haunt them.
There have been reports about the Eagles’ offensive players being frustrated with Jalen Hurts’ subpar play, decision-making, and inability to read coverages and find them even when they’re open. The quarterback’s numbers aren’t encouraging, and the eye test is worse.
The Cowboys revamped their defense by trading for Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams, and DeMarvion Overshown and Shavon Revel Jr. have made their season debuts. That should work wonders for a team that has decided to go all-in to make a playoff push in the second half of the season.
That being said, the Cowboys always seem to find ways to shoot themselves in the foot. Like all divisional games, this will most likely be a toss-up as well.
