One year ago, fans of the Golden State Warriors were glued to their televisions.
They had no idea that their team would eventually become NBA champions again at the end of the season.
Instead, fans were paying attention for a completely different historic reason.

One year ago, Stephen Curry broke the all-time three-point record in the NBA.
The three-pointer that sealed the deal came in a game against the New York Knicks, in New York.
But even though the arena was filled with a bunch of fans faithful to the Knicks, the entire place erupted when Curry sank his shot.
By doing so, Curry surpassed Ray Allen and become the champion of the three.
He also cemented himself in history as perhaps the greatest NBA shooter to ever play the game.
Curry’s Claim
Curry nailed his shot in the first quarter of the game against the Knicks and the game came to a crawl for a short moment because the fans, media, and other teammates were congratulating Curry.
For weeks now, people had been waiting for Curry to break the record – something he had done in an amazing amount of time.
In fact, he broke the record in just 789 games, 511 fewer than it took Allen to do the same.
The magic number that night was 2,977 but Curry has far surpassed that since then.
This leads many to wonder who – if anyone – will break Curry’s record.
There is a slew of great three-point shooters in the league right now but few of them do it with the consistency and speed of Curry.
So, will anyone ever top Curry’s record?
Certainly, but it may not be for some time.
