The Pittsburgh Steelers are experiencing a quarterback crisis for the first time in nearly two decades.
Ben Roethlisberger‘s recent retirement left a huge void and a black hole in terms of the team’s succession plan.
Head coach Mike Tomlin will give both Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins chances to prove that they are worthy to become the successor of a two-time Super Bowl champion.
However, it seems like both players do not have what it takes to fill in Roethlisberger’s shoes.
That said, the team’s faithful are hoping that they acquire a quarterback this offseason.
In particular, Pittsburgh area radio show host Andrew Fillipponi is hoping that his beloved Steelers will chase reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers.

Fillipponi reacted to a recent tweet by ESPN’s Dianna Russini by saying, “Are the Steelers one of the multiple teams that’s made an offer? I hope so.”
Meanwhile, Russini’s tweet reads, “Aaron Rodgers will be informing the Packers of his decision soon, per league sources. I’m told there are multiple teams with offers on the table but of course, nothing can happen until the Green Bay Packers allow a trade.”
Rodgers Is A Great Fit For Pittsburgh
Imagine a Hall of Fame quarterback taking over for a fellow Hall of Famer.
That’s what happened with the Packers when Rodgers took over for Brett Favre.
The four-time NFL MVP gets to be under the same situation if he succeeds Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
While Roethlisberger was a shell of the player he once was, he still managed to lead the Steelers to the playoffs.
If Rodgers will come in, the team will get one of the more accurate passers in the league.
His presence would unlock the potential of receivers Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool even more.
Rodgers will also rely on versatile running back Najee Harris to keep defenses guessing.
But while the idea of Rodgers wearing the black and gold is tantalizing, the ball is now in the Steelers’ court to make it happen.
