Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been great all season, but he’s been even more dominant since the All-Star break.
There is a reason why Gilgeous-Alexander is the frontrunner for MVP, and the numbers prove it.
According to Evan Sidery, Gilgeous-Alexander has been averaging 33.2 points, 7.1 assists, and 2.3 stocks since the All-Star break.
He has secured a 63.2 true shooting percentage and has gone 51.2/41.2/90.1 from the floor.

At this point, it seems that MVP is most definitely going to Gilgeous-Alexander.
But that doesn’t mean his season is over.
In fact, now he has even more to prove.
Gilgeous-Alexander plays for the best team in the West and is ready and eager to push them all the way to the NBA Finals.
There are still doubts about the Thunder, with some people saying they are too inexperienced, too young, and not ready for a title.
But Gilgeous-Alexander doesn’t believe that.
If the Thunder are able to silence the critics and win a championship, it’ll be partly because of Gilgeous-Alexander and his offensive dominance and leadership skills.
And if they fall short, he is sure to hear it too.
It’s hard to imagine the Thunder not going far in the postseason if Gilgeous-Alexander is playing like this.
Of course, the playoffs are very different from the regular season and some teams always fall short while others overperform and impress.
Gilgeous-Alexander has been on a sensational run since the All-Star break, and now he has to prove that he can keep it up.
The MVP trophy is likely his, but will Gilgeous-Alexander also earn his first ring this year?
