Now that he’s officially an NBA player, all eyes will be on Victor Wembanyama now more than ever.
There’s been a lot of talking and speculation and hype about the Frenchman, so it feels like he’s not allowed to fail, not even on day one.
That’s why social media was ruthless when the San Antonio Spurs posted a video of him working out and missing shot after shot, with some people rushing to call him a bust and whatnot.
With that in mind, Dan Patrick asked Spurs legend Sean Elliott if the team was trying to tamper expectations about their prized rookie or if they forgot to edit the clip.

Elliott cracked a laugh and simply stated that he was not going to judge Wembanyama over a clip and some missed shots.
Truth be told, the clip is far from flattering.
He fails jumper after jumper and can only connect on a couple of dunks and a twelve-footer.
Then again, it’s not like we don’t have hours of tape and footage of him dominating actual professionals and grown-up men in a competitive basketball tournament, so maybe we shouldn’t read too much into that.
As great a prospect as he is, he’s still a prospect.
There will be growing pains and off nights, just like it happens with every single superstar in this league.
But that’s the kind of scrutiny that comes with being the No. 1 pick in the Draft, especially after all that’s been said of him.
