The Atlanta Braves have been baseball’s best team in 2023.
At 64-36, they lead the National League East by 10 games over the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.
This season, star outfielder and former Rookie of the Year Ronald Acuna Jr. is back to his old form.
The four-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger is hitting .327 with 23 home runs and 58 RBI.
He also has a .976 OPS.
Acuna has done much of his damage with two strikes this season.
In fact, his .831 OPS with two strikes this season is the best in all of baseball.
On Twitter, Inside Edge tweeted a list of players in baseball this year with the highest two-strike OPS marks.
Ronald Acuña has an OPS of .831 (207 PAs) with two-strikes this season, best in MLB.
Kyle Tucker – .791
Luis Arraez – .775
Christian Walker – .773
Mookie Betts – .748#ForTheA pic.twitter.com/E0YDeuU4tq— Inside Edge (@IE_MLB) July 27, 2023
Second on the list is Houston Astros slugger Kyle Tucker, who has a .791 OPS with two strikes this season.
Luis Arraez, Christian Walker, and Mookie Betts follow Tucker on the list with marks of .775, .773, and .748, respectively.
Acuna has done all of this damage with two strikes in 207 plate appearances this season.
This is certainly an elite mark that the Braves star has posted.
Atlanta has had a tremendous season to date thanks in large part to the contributions of Acuna, who now appears to be back at full strength two years after he suffered a devastating ACL tear in Miami.
But the Braves slugger is still able to get on base, hit home runs, and put together some truly impressive numbers at the plate.
His two-strike approach is clearly working as well, as that is where he has done a good portion of his damage in 2023.
