The Pittsburgh Pirates started off the season like a team that could have a surprisingly good year.
But since then, that has faded away and they have fallen to fourth in the NL Central.
That means they will most likely be sellers at the trade deadline on August 1.
Some of their veterans may be on the way out as they look to build for the future.
One player that Pirates manager Derek Shelton does not want to move on from is Andrew McCutchen.
According to MLB Network Radio, Shelton said, “Andrew McCutchen is fine right where he is.”

McCutchen is a fan favorite in Pittsburgh and someone that wants to end his career in the city.
He spent the first nine seasons of his career as a Pirate.
During that time he won an NL MVP award and made five All-Star teams.
After leaving Pittsburgh he made a few different stops around the league before signing with the Pirates again this offseason.
On the season he is batting .278 with nine home runs, 25 RBI, and a .832 OPS.
McCutchen could prove valuable to a contending team but Pittsburgh does not appear to have any interest in trading him.
The Pirate legend is 36 years old and is playing on a one-year deal.
It would not be a surprise to see him retire after this season and end his career in Pittsburgh.
The Pirates will make a plethora of trades before the trade deadline.
But expecting to see McCutchen moved in one of those deals looks unlikely.
