Recently, the finalists for Gold Glove Awards at each position were revealed.
There are several deserving candidates for each position in both the American League and National League.
In the National League, there are some solid contenders at third base for the Gold Glove Award.
Nolan Arenado of the St. Louis Cardinals, who won the award last season for NL third basemen, is a finalist again.
Colorado Rockies’ third baseman Ryan McMahon and Ke’Bryan Hayes of the Pittsburgh Pirates are the other two finalists.
But Hayes might have a bit of an advantage over the other two finalists, given that he led the Major Leagues in Defensive Runs Saved.
The Pirates certainly think so, and they made their case on Twitter.

Hayes’ Gold Glove Case
While Arenado and McMahon are certainly deserving candidates, Hayes’ achievement should not be overlooked.
The Pirates’ slugger managed to lead all players in baseball with 24 Defensive Runs Saved.
That certainly is a reason for him to at least garner some consideration for a Gold Glove.
Topping Arenado will be no easy task, however, as he has won a Gold Glove in each of his first nine seasons and is a strong candidate to do it for a 10th consecutive year.
Still, Hayes has a strong case to be given a Gold Glove Award, one that cannot and should not be overlooked.
While the Pirates had a season to forget, losing 100 games, Hayes certainly gave them some good memories.
He is the guy the Pirates are building around as they try and look towards the future.
