Seiya Suzuki was one of the many marquee free agents available this offseason.
He now has a new home with the Chicago Cubs after years in Japan.
The Cubbies signed the young phenom to a five-year, $85 million contract.
Suzuki and the Cubs are ready to go in 2022 as Chicago looks to compete for a playoff spot and rebound from a 71-91 season in which they finished in fourth place in the NL Central and traded away stars Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo.
But today, Suzuki is set to make his first appearance in a Cubs’ uniform.
He will be batting second and playing right field this afternoon.
