The Arizona Cardinals moved on from Kliff Kingsbury after another disappointing season and are searching for a new head coach.
Kingsbury should be an interesting name on the free agent market for both the NFL and college football, especially since he spent time with Texas Tech before he moved on to the NFL ranks.
On Monday morning, after the news of Kingsbury’s firing came out, one New England Patriots fan came up with an idea for a potential new offensive coordinator:
Kliff Kingsbury was just fired in Arizona.
He should be the #Patriots number one target at offensive coordinator.
Kingsbury wasn't a great head coach – but he can call an offense. PLUS, he'll be paid by the #Cardinals through 2027.
Kingsbury can take Mac to the next level.

“Kliff Kingsbury was just fired in Arizona. He should be the #Patriots number one target at offensive coordinator. Kingsbury wasn’t a great head coach – but he can call an offense. PLUS, he’ll be paid by the #Cardinals through 2027. Kingsbury can take Mac to the next level,” Mike Kadlick tweeted.
The Patriots just missed the playoffs this season as second-year QB Mac Jones showed some inconsistencies.
Matt Patricia, who isn’t the official offensive coordinator (nobody is), is in hot water for the Patriots’ struggles on offense.
New England always has high expectations, and this season the offense finished 21st in the NFL in points per game (21.4), 27th in yards (331), 21st in passing yards (224.4), and 24th in rushing yards (106.6).
Even though Kingsbury didn’t perform well as a head coach, he is one of the bright offensive kinds across the league and just might be able to help turn around an underperforming group in New England.
Bill Belichick is back once again as head coach, and the Patriots can’t afford to have a down year in 2023.
