Patrick Mahomes had another rough day this past Sunday.
His Kansas City Chiefs fell by a final of 27-3 to the Tennessee Titans and Mahomes was knocked out of the game after taking a hit to his head and neck.
The Chiefs are now 3-4 this season, which is a shocking mark for a team with perennial Super Bowl expectations.
The team truly got kicked in the mouth and has to bounce back fast to avoid a lost season.
Mahomes was able to put things in perspective with an honest admission following the game.
Patrick Mahomes: "It's been rainbows and flowers and awesome for these last few years, but when you want to build something substantial, something great you're going to go through parts like this."

He is certainly not wrong and such a stretch was inevitable for the Chiefs after all the good times they have had.
Going Through A Rough Patch
Aside from injuries, this is the first time Mahomes has gone through adversity in the regular season with the Chiefs.
He became the starter in 2018 and was named NFL MVP.
The team then went 12-4 in 2019 and 14-2 last season.
A 3-4 start is truly shocking, especially when the Chiefs keep losing to other AFC contenders.
They have lost to the Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, and Tennessee Titans, in that order.
The Chiefs also pulled out a close victory in Week 1 over the Cleveland Browns.
Mahomes himself is in arguably the worst rough patch of his career as he can’t stop throwing interceptions.

The former MVP already has nine interceptions through seven games and has thrown at least two in three separate games.
But like he said, if the Chiefs want to build a dynasty that lasts a decade or more it is going to feature the bad times as well.
And to be fair, a 3-4 start is not some monumental fall from grace.
The Chiefs get the New York Giants next Monday night.
If they lose that one, then the panic button can be hit.
