It seems like an NBA season isn’t truly underway until the New Orleans Pelicans have to deal with Zion Williamson’s injuries.
The former No. 1 pick is on the shelf again, nursing one of his many hamstring injuries.
Williamson has made six appearances this season, averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game on 45% from the floor and 33% from beyond the arc.
However, with the never-ending ailments, some believe the Pelicans would be better off moving on from him.
Should that be the case, Bovada Sportsbook has the Los Angeles Lakers as the likeliest destination for his services (via NBA Central).
The Lakers lead the pack at +600, followed by the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Chicago Bulls.

Then again, this shouldn’t be surprising, as the Lakers are constantly tied to the best players in the league, even if they realistically don’t have anything to give to get him.
Truthfully, multiple teams are in a position to put together a better trade package than the Lakers, not to mention the potential salary-cap limitations associated with it.
Williamson is one of the most impactful players when healthy, but he rarely is.
Not even slimming down and losing weight in the offseason was enough to prevent these nagging soft-tissue injuries from showing up early in the season.
At this point, other teams might feel like he’s not worth the risk.
