The Chicago Bears have a quarterback problem.
This is not new news as this issue has plagued the organization for years.
However, the latest problem is somewhat of an embarrassment of riches.
The Bears have too many quarterbacks.
After signing free agent Andy Dalton and drafting Ohio State’s Justin Fields in the offseason, question marks always surrounded Nick Foles.
Foles has an excellent resume as a backup quarterback.
He won a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP honors for the Philadelphia Eagles after he came off the bench when Carson Wentz got injured.
Foles showed what he can do in the Bears preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans.

Foles finished the game completing 10 out of 13 passes for 142 yards.
He threw two touchdowns both to the tight end Jesper Horsted.
His trade stock should be soaring after this performance.
I just want to say I appreciate Nick Foles doing everything in his power to boost his trade stock tonight.

What Does It Mean?
Let’s assume Foles is QB3 on the Bears roster.
He is one expensive third-string quarterback.
Foles is entering the second year of his three-year, $24 million contract.
It seems like the Bears will not keep him.
Could the Bears trade him?
That is likely under the correct circumstances.
What Are The Correct Circumstances?
The Bears have a lot of respect for Foles and reportedly would only trade him somewhere that is amenable to him.
The Chicago Bears will listen to trade offers for QB Nick Foles but won’t trade him to a team that he doesn’t want to go, per @AlbertBreer.

He has not been there very long so it is somewhat surprising in the cutthroat business of football that a team has that level of respect for a backup quarterback.
While the Bears are under a lot of public scrutiny for their ever present quarterback issues, it is nice to see the organization cares enough about Foles to want to do right by him.
It is not immediately clear who Foles will be playing for in Week 1, but it will be interesting to follow this storyline to see how it turns out.

Buddy Bear says
Bumbling Bears blow it again. Foles isn’t the problem. Signing Dalton, who is a 10 million dollar redundancy, is the problem.
