The San Francisco 49ers have an absolutely stacked roster on both sides of the football, and perhaps some would argue they have the most talented team in the NFL — at least on paper.
If they just figure out their quarterback situation, they could be set up to win the Super Bowl this winter, giving them six Vince Lombardi trophies.
Brock Purdy, last season’s “Mr. Irrelevant” who became their starter in Week 13 and took the league by storm, has been recovering from a torn UCL in his elbow suffered during the NFC Championship Game.
He has apparently been progressing nicely in his rehab, and Tom Pelissero reports that he is taking another step toward being ready for the start of the upcoming season.

Purdy’s numbers as a starter in 2022 rivaled those of almost any elite quarterback, and he had the 49ers playing red-hot football down the stretch, both at home and on the road.
If it weren’t for his injury, some feel they would’ve made it to the Super Bowl and possibly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs there.
With the Chiefs losing wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and star offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., perhaps the window is a bit ajar for San Francisco to win it all.
However, they will still have to deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and an improved Dallas Cowboys team in the NFC.
But should they reach the big game, the NFL’s best defense, which could get even better thanks to the addition of defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, could deliver them their first world championship since the 1994 campaign.
