The Philadelphia Eagles are going all in for the 2022 NFL season.
They want to complete the transition from a fringe playoff team to a legitimate contender.
Their aggressive offseason and solid drafting are proof of their goal to become one of the NFC’s best.
Rookies Jordan Davis, Cam Jurgens, and Nakobe Dean could have a major impact on the Eagles for years to come.
Likewise, trading for A.J. Brown upgrades their wide receiver depth chart which already has DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins.
The Eagles also acquired Haason Reddick to improve their pass rush after ranking 31st in that category last season with 29 sacks.
Finally, they pulled off another shocker by acquiring James Bradberry on a one-year, $10 million deal.
It’s a small price to pay for a Pro Bowl cornerback, but making it work will have massive benefits.
Lining up opposite Darius Slay gives the Eagles a formidable cornerback tandem.
Those two defensive backs have over 15 interceptions and over 80 passes deflected since 2016.
But in the event that their plan falters, the Eagles will still get something out of Bradberry.
reminder: if James Bradberry leaves the Eagles in free agency after his one-year deal is up, Philly gets a comp pick for free
the Giants gave Bradberry a 3-yr, $43.5M deal in 2020

NBC Sports’ Warren Sharp already pointed out that Bradberry counts higher in dead money with the New York Giants than his maximum earnings with the Eagles.
But he also reminded that Philadelphia gets a compensatory pick if Bradberry leaves after the 2022 season.
Getting Benefits Either Way
General manager Howie Roseman has done a masterful job in navigating their roster and their draft capital.
He has built a solid team through offseason signings and solid draft picks.
He also got an extra pick in round one of next year’s draft thanks to a trade with the New Orleans Saints.
If Bradberry leaves, they will get an extra pick which they can use to draft his replacement.
