Andy Reid has always been known for being one of the best offensive minds in the National Football League, so it’s no surprise to see the Kansas City Chiefs thriving on that side of the field.
With elite weapons like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, OC Eric Bieniemy and Reid can get quite creative when it comes to their play-calling and sets.
However, according to former NFL player Dan Orlovsky, one of the biggest keys behind their success has actually been one of the most basic formations in football: the 4 strong.
The most important formation for Bengals to slow down Sunday… https://t.co/psCmmtCNtP

Orlovsky was quick to point out as many as three examples where the Chiefs used the 4 strong formation to get the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense out of position and get at least six yards per play, with Mahomes reading the coverage and finding the open guy over and over.
Of course, the Cincinnati Bengals are quite familiar with everything Mahomes and the Chiefs are used to doing, as they’ve beaten them in their past two meetings, and enter this AFC Championship Game as one-point favorites in most sportsbooks.
This clash with the Bengals will be the toughest task for Bieniemy and Reid just yet, as their defense is coming off holding the Buffalo Bills to just 10 points at home, and they’ve finished the season on such a high note.
So, they better be ready to get creative and get some tricks out of their bag.
But if the 4 strong keeps working, then they’ll keep rolling with it until they finally figure out how to stop it.
