For the last several years, there have been many rumors about the future of Eric Gordon with the Houston Rockets.
He has allegedly been on the trade block multiple times in previous seasons but nothing has come of the rumors.
Now that the NBA trade deadline is just hours away, Gordon’s name is being floated around the league again.
The Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers are the most recent teams to express interest in dealing for Eric Gordon, per @KellyIko.

According to NBA insider Kelly Iko, both the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers are expressing interest in Gordon.
The 2016-17 Sixth Man of the Year makes a bit more than $19 million this season.
However, the second (and non-guaranteed) year of his contract is worth another $20.9 million.
While Gordon has publicly said that he doesn’t know if he will remain in Houston or not, inside reporting from Iko says that he has told the front office he wants to be traded.
Gordon has been with the Rockets since the 2016-17 season, one of the team’s few consistent stars, and has averaged 15.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
He could be a reliable player for a number of teams who are looking for experience and skill.
If he were to leave the team, he could find more promising opportunities with either the Suns or Clippers, both of which are playoff contenders while the Rockets definitely are not.
Trading Gordon would be a smart move for Houston, as they could try to garner a few players or picks for him and build a team around the young but struggling core of players they have.
There could be some huge changes on the horizon for Houston and dealing away Gordon might be the start of them.
After years of rumors about Gordon being dealt away, Houston might actually make it happen this week.
