The Miami Dolphins began Week 10 with a shocker by taking down Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
The Ravens offense could not fend off the constant blitzes and the result was a 22-10 victory for Miami.
A slow start is what ultimately doomed the Ravens and Jackson could only describe the recurring situation as “ridiculous” following the game.
“Every week. It’s ridiculous,” Jackson said, via NFL.com. “I don’t understand it either.”
The Ravens have now lost two of three and have opened up the race for AFC North supremacy.
UPDATE: Jevon Holland (21 blitzes) and Brandon Jones (17) did not just blitz more times than any defensive back in any game this season — the two Dolphins safeties blitzed more times than any DB in a game in the Next Gen Stats era (dating back to 2016).#BALvsMIA | #FinsUp

Another Rough Game For Baltimore
The Ravens managed a total of three points in the first three quarters against the Dolphins.
A final of 10 against the lowly Dolphins is inexcusable.
What became clear Thursday night is that the Ravens have serious problems if Jackson is always the focal point on offense.
The Dolphins never stopped blitzing and the lack of a true running game finally hurt the Ravens.

Jackson was the leading rusher with 39 yards, while Devonta Freeman had 10 carries for 35 yards.
The Dolphins defense was able to zero in on Jackson and they had the advantage from the start, while also setting a blueprint for every other NFL defense on how to stop the Ravens.
The Ravens are still 6-3 on the year, but two losses in three weeks does bring some problems into focus.
Jackson had very little help a few weeks ago in a blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, even though he did finish with 88 rushing yards.
The formula is now clear for NFL defenses in that focusing on Jackson is all they need to do.
So instead of being dumbfounded, the Ravens will have to make some changes to take some pressure off Jackson and be less one-dimensional.
Otherwise, more shocking losses are to come.
