The Los Angeles Lakers have made huge improvements to their roster ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.
They have retained the key players from last season while also adding multiple new players to the roster over the summer.
Considering the Lakers have built a pretty deep roster already, not many expected them to sign another player ahead of the season tip-off.
However, per NBA analyst Chris Haynes on Twitter, the Lakers are signing Quinndary Weatherspoon.
Los Angeles Lakers are signing guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, his agent Daniel Hazan tells @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport. Weatherspoon averaged 15.5 points, shot 52 percent and 40 percent from distance in two NBA preseason games while playing for Israeli club Maccabee Ra’anana.

Weatherspoon impressed the Purple and Gold with his two-game stint with Maccabee Ra’anana during the preseason.
In two games, Weatherspoon put up 15.5 points per game while shooting an impressive 52% from the field and 40% from the three-point line.
The former second-round draft pick already has three years of experience playing in the NBA.
He was most notably part of the Golden State Warriors’ 2021-22 NBA championship-winning roster.
In the 2021-22 season, Weatherspoon averaged 2.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game for the Warriors.
While Weatherspoon has seemingly improved his skills, he was most likely signed by the Lakers to fill in their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
Sure, the organization will hope that Weatherspoon can show signs of dominance, similar to his preseason run, but it’s a pretty far-fetched dream.
For starters, the Lakers already have a deep lineup, and Weatherspoon may not get enough minutes to truly showcase his improved skills.
In addition, even if Weatherspoon proves himself and earns a few minutes on a nightly basis, he won’t get many shooting opportunities during games.
Either way, the Lakers have seemingly made their final move before the start of the 2023-24 season.
