The Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors just don’t get along.
Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks, and company have talked a lot of smack over the past couple of seasons, and that hasn’t rubbed the veterans all that well.
Stephen Curry had already humbled the young guns several months ago, telling them to chill with all that dynasty talk.
Then, it was Klay’s turn to take them to school and show them that there were still levels to the competition.
The Warriors dominated the Grizzlies from the start during Christmas day, and Thompson didn’t hesitate to let Dillon Brooks have a piece of his mind after knocking down a massive late-game shot on him.
Thompson taunted Brooks as he fell to the ground and was assessed a technical foul.

However, the point was made already:
“Man, they [were] talking about dynasty and all that; you can’t talk dynasty when you haven’t won before,” Klay said after the game. “I don’t think people realize how hard that is, the commitment and sacrifice it takes. You got to sacrifice your body, and I thought that was premature talk to even mention that word. They bring the best out of us, and I think we do the same. And, even though you don’t like ’em, you got to respect ’em because they’re a threat.”
This has become one of the finest rivalries in the league, but the Grizzlies may want to win a playoff series or two before talking back to the reigning champions.
