The New York Knicks are coming off a somewhat successful season, and their young core is blossoming and meshing well together.
That’s why the team should be considering the future of some of their key contributors, especially their prolific scorer off the bench: Immanuel Quickley.
Quickley averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 boards, and 3.4 dimes per game last season, and he’s now eligible to sign a contract extension.
According to Sean Deveney of Heavy (via NBACentral), the talented guard will demand nine figures over four years in his impending extension, per an unnamed league executive.

The Knicks would be wise to sort a deal out with Quickley before training camp.
Otherwise, he could become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, and that decision could be quite costly for the Knickerbockers if he continues to burst out and improve the way he’s done since entering the league.
The No. 25 pick out of Kentucky has been a big steal and a bargain for the Knicks.
He averaged north of 21 points while shooting 40.1% from beyond the arc after the All-Star break last season, being one of the frontrunners for the Sixth Man of the Year award and also being a serviceable source of offense when called upon to be a starter.
Quickley is a pure bucket-getter and solid facilitator, and the Knicks don’t have many of those on the roster.
All things considered, signing him to a contract extension should be a no-brainer at this point, even with this new CBA.
