The 2022-23 NBA season has officially come to an end for the Boston Celtics after Jayson Tatum and company failed to get the best of the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night at TD Garden.
With the Celtics unable to get back to the NBA Finals, the team’s offseason has begun with many questions to be answered heading into this summer.
Former Celtics center and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins believes the entire 2022-23 campaign was a “complete failure” for Boston and went off on the storied franchise and its fans on NBA Today.
The Celtics Season was a COMPLETE FAILURE and I’m very disappointed in the Celtics Fans!!! Carry the hell on… pic.twitter.com/sLB9kSIwsX

Perkins saying this season was a complete failure for the Celtics is a bit of a stretch due to everything that went on within the organization last summer.
The Celtics came into this season having to replace head coach Ime Udoka, who looked like he was going to be the next great coach for the storied franchise.
They replaced him with Joe Mazzulla, who had zero experience and had to take on the task of replacing Udoka.
Although the team was able to add Malcolm Brogdon into the mix, which gave the team a big boost off the bench in the backcourt, Boston had relatively the same squad.
The Celtics exceeded expectations, considering all the team and its players had to deal with.
The real questions now will be whether the team keeps Mazzulla as head coach and if Jaylen Brown is still in the team’s long-term plans, with speculation brewing he could be traded.
