The Boston Celtics’ redemption arc is one of the most impressive in recent NBA history.
There were just so many storylines within the locker room, and every single person there had something to prove.
Notably, coach Joe Mazzulla also had to prove himself after a heartbreaking end to last season, and prove himself he did.
Now surrounded by some of the best assistant coaches in the game, the second-year coach proved to be a great tactician and motivator, having his guys ready to perform more often than not.
To make it even more impressive, Mazzulla did it while dealing with a major injury.
According to a report by Bleacher Report, Coach Mazzulla will undergo surgery for a torn meniscus he suffered in March.

Mazzulla didn’t let that get in the way of his job, and while he could’ve taken a quick break during the season to get his injury to full strength, he chose to commit to the task at hand.
It paid off, as the Celtics dominated their way through the regular season before an epic 16-3 run in the playoffs.
Mazzulla is one of the youngest coaches in the game and should have a bright future ahead of him.
His job is pretty much secure for as long as Brad Stevens is there, and props to him for trusting Mazzulla and keeping him around despite how uglily things ended in his first season on the job.
