The New York Jets don’t appear to be going very far in 2021 and things only got worse this week when Zach Wilson suffered a PCL injury.
He is set to miss at least two weeks, and possibly more.
The Jets decided to act by making a trade and while the deal involves a familiar face, it is not a move that will cause mass excitement among fans.

Joe Flacco is headed back to the Jets after beginning the season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The veteran spent 2020 with the Jets and made four starts, losing all four.
An Easy Option In The Interim
Wilson was taking hit after hit and it finally caught up to him.
The rookie is now out and is lucky to have avoided serious injury.
Flacco now shows up and while he could start right away, also provides a veteran presence to help Wilson along.
Mike White got time in relief of Wilson on Sunday, but the final was a blowout loss to the New England Patriots.
Thus, Robert Saleh’s bunch wants a more experienced player in Flacco.
However, the Jets just gave up 54 points to the Patriots so Flacco’s presence will not change much.
Fallout In Philadelphia
This deal leaves Gardner Minshew as the top backup behind Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia.
With the way the team is fading, that could mean Minshew even sees some playing time at some point this year.
#Eagles wanted to bump Gardner Minshew up to No. 2, maybe eventually No. 1. https://t.co/sx2d9E7ovP

The situation with Hurts is a complex one and part of the blame falls on the coaching staff for putting too much pressure on the young quarterback.
Yet teams are not patient in the NFL and Minshew could get some action to see if he could recapture some of that Jacksonville magic.
His youth provides more upside than anything Flacco would have given the team this year.
