The Dallas Cowboys might deal with a happy problem soon.
Cooper Rush is yet to lose as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback after three games, and he hasn’t thrown an interception either.
He will have another chance to improve his record after Dak Prescott was ruled out for their Week 5 game against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
But Prescott’s recovery is imminent with each passing week.
Therefore, the time will come when he will be able to grip the ball well enough with his surgically-repaired thumb.
If Prescott is healthy enough to play, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones sees no reason to bench him.
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said he can't see a scenario where the Cowboys would stick with Cooper Rush over a healthy Dak Prescott. "No. No. As I see it right today."

The Athletic’s Jon Machota tweeted, “Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said he can’t see a scenario where the Cowboys would stick with Cooper Rush over a healthy Dak Prescott. ‘No. No. As I see it right today.'”
But until Prescott returns, the Cowboys will ride with Rush, and they have no complaints about that.
After all, the Central Michigan alumnus has led them to victories over the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders.
Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season will be the fourth week Prescott is out, which is right within the estimates regarding his return.
Cowboys Offense Benefitting From An Elite Defense
Whether it’s Rush or Prescott behind center, the Cowboys offense just needs to score enough points to earn the victory.
That’s the luxury they have while playing with a dominating defensive unit that is yet to surrender a 20-point game.
Aside from being second in sacks with 15, the Cowboys are also ranked seventh in total yards allowed with 308.5 per game.
Meanwhile, they are tied for second in points allowed with 14.5 per game.
Therefore, Dallas’ offense gains much confidence from the solid play of Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Dorance Armstrong, Trevon Diggs, and the rest of the Cowboys defense.
