After an offseason full of disappointment and some big changes, the Miami Heat could be facing a very challenging year.
They didn’t get Damian Lillard and they also lost a few important parts of their roster but that doesn’t mean they will jump at the chance to secure another All-Star if they don’t feel he’s right for the team.
Bill Reiter of CBS Sports is reporting, via Dru on Twitter, that the Heat have not “seriously engaged” with the Philadelphia 76ers for James Harden.
The team sees a move of Harden to Miami as “not impossible” but “highly unlikely.”

When they lost out on Lillard, some people thought that perhaps the Heat would take a run at getting Harden.
If he played to his full potential, Harden could be a great addition to any team, including the Heat.
He currently remains with the Sixers and a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers hasn’t made any progress.
But the Heat aren’t going to pursue Harden, even though the Eastern Conference has just become much more competitive.
The move of Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks and Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics means that the two best teams in the East got even better.
The rest of the squads in that conference are trying to figure out how to overcome the Bucks and Celtics in the new season.
But Miami doesn’t think that Harden is what they need and they are going to stick with the roster they have now.
Over the last few years, they have surprised fans with their ability to fight harder and go further than expected.
Will they still be able to do that without Harden and in a conference that got much more difficult?
