The New York Knicks have shown a lot of promise during the 2024-25 season but many fans agree that some tweaks to the roster may be necessary in the future.
To that point, Gilbert Arenas suggested a change for the Knicks on his show.
He said that Karl-Anthony Towns should be the team’s first option, even over Jalen Brunson.
He praised Brunson and said there may be nights when he needs to take over and become the team’s best option again but he thinks Towns scoring the most is smart for the team.

Arenas said that Brunson never loses confidence, a fact the stats back up.
He thinks Towns, who is already playing well, will do even better if he has more confidence in himself.
Being the team’s top option could give him that confidence.
Towns is posting 26.5 points and 12.2 rebounds per game during his first season with the Knicks.
His numbers have increased from what he did last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves and it’s clear he was a smart addition to the Knicks.
With that being said, the team isn’t thriving as much as some fans had hoped and there are concerns about the roster’s depth and longevity.
That means some alterations might be needed from head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Right now, the Knicks have a 5-6 record which earns them the fourth spot in the East.
Their goals are much higher than that and they aren’t settling this season.
Brunson has been solid since his start in New York and Towns has been too, but some changes to how they work may be in the future.
