The Denver Broncos have been subject to criticism throughout the 2023 NFL Season.
After their unexpected 1-5 start, fans and analysts have tried to understand why they have struggled, coming up with a few ideas.
Robert Griffin III gave a potential explanation of their struggles after their recent loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
In a tweet that Griffin was fired up about, he said the Broncos are “playing to win the blame game.”
The Denver Broncos aren’t playing to win football games. They are playing to win the BLAME GAME. That’s what happens when Sean Payton comes in throwing shade at his Super Bowl Winning QB Russell Wilson EVERY CHANCE HE GETS. The locker room will implode because no one in it…

Griffin views the Broncos as a team that isn’t playing to win but tries to throw shade whenever possible.
As he mentions, Sean Payton has continued to point the finger at Russell Wilson for most of the team’s woes.
Throughout his collegiate and NFL career, Griffin was a part of several locker rooms.
He understands what morale must be like for the Broncos, saying, “The locker room will implode because no one in it believes the coach has their best interest at heart.”
Whether this is the current feeling in the Broncos’ locker room remains to be seen.
However, something needs to change for the Broncos to have success in the future.
Wilson hasn’t worked out how the organization anticipated, and Payton hasn’t instilled much confidence in himself.
The next several weeks will be telling what this team is made of.
If Payton has command of the locker room, the Broncos will likely show resilience, fighting hard in the coming weeks.
If that is not the case, however, a 1-5 record could quickly turn to a 1-8.
The Broncos’ next three games are against the Green Bay Packers, Chiefs, and the Buffalo Bills.
